Stories Of A City In Motion With Raven Jordan

Raven Jordan: Dallas Author & Poet
Raven Jordan has always been drawn to stories. Growing up in Dallas, she was surrounded by a city full of them. Restaurants opening on every corner, artists creating new work, entrepreneurs building businesses from scratch. Dallas-Fort Worth is constantly evolving, and Raven has built a career around capturing that movement through her writing.
She is the voice behind RavenWrites DFW, a platform that began as a small side blog during her time as a local journalist. What started as a creative outlet quickly became something more. Raven wrote about events she attended, businesses she discovered, and the people shaping the local culture. Over time, her words began to resonate. What started casually began to grow.
As readership expanded, so did demand. More people began sharing her work and asking her to tell their stories. The blog evolved into a full-service creative platform, forming the foundation of the services she offers today. As a Dallas native, Raven brings an authentic perspective shaped by lived experience. Her deep connection to the region allows her to write with cultural awareness that resonates with both readers and clients.
“There’s something special about the diversity in DFW,” she says. “People bring their culture into the food, the arts, and the businesses here. It creates a lot of opportunities for connection.” Raven now offers multimedia writing, social media services, website design, and logo creation.
Her clients are often local, and Raven’s philosophy is simple. Real stories deserve real effort. “My work is thorough, dedicated, and human,” she says. “I don’t go halfway, and I don’t outsource my writing to chatbots.” Raven’s journey into the industry began during her university years, where she studied writing and media through the challenges of the pandemic. Even before graduating, she was building her portfolio and taking on freelance opportunities.
A defining moment came after she lost her full-time role in media. Instead of stepping back, Raven leaned deeper into her creativity, completing a personal project she had long been working on: a poetry collection inspired by life experiences and observations. Her poetry reflects themes of identity, creativity, and the unpredictable rhythm of everyday life.
Today, Raven says the most rewarding part of her work is seeing how people respond when they read something she has written about them. That sense of being seen and understood continues to drive her forward. For Raven Jordan, writing is more than content. It is a way to document the creativity, ambition, and community shaping Dallas-Fort Worth every day.
Poem:
Raven Jordan With Her Title: Last Night’s Mascara
Routine by Raven Jordan
I’m not good with habits
I’ve got ADHD
That means my life is in constant chaos
Disarray
Delusion and whimsy
Habits don’t come easy
And the ones that do, are bad
Think perpetual lateness
Think rising early, setting late
Think texting over calling
There aren’t enough hours in the day
For me to do the same thing
Every day
And also tick forward
